More than one in every 10 people now need at least a decade to scrape together enough money for their first house deposit – but there is a shortcut.

The uphill battle to enter the housing market is only getting tougher.
New analysis by comparison website Finder has revealed more than one in every ten Australians take a decade to save for their first home deposit.
The average cost of a house deposit across Australia has now skyrocketed to more than $100,000.
Sarah Megginson, home loans expert at Finder, said saving for that sum could be enough of a hurdle to put people off completely.
