Avalon CEO Justin Giddings said the privately-owned faciliy could set up cabins on spare land, allowing travellers to disembark from aircraft and walk directly to their quarantine accomodation without leaving the airport.
“It’s also a secure environment, people can’t just come and visit, there’s no Uber Eats or antyhing like that,” he told Geelong Broadcasters.
“We’ve got an airport, we’ve got lots of space, it’s under-utilised at the moment, and we’re putting our hand up to say we’re here to help.”
