Australia’s Tomljanovic pushes Halep to the wire in epic encounter – The Age
Australia’s world No.72 Ajla Tomljanovic came within a whisker of upsetting former grand slam champion Simona Halep in an epic second-round encounter.

Tomljanovic, the Australian No.2, had every chance to put the match to bed but she faltered at the crucial moment, while Halep reeled off five games in a row to take the deciding stanza 7-5 and advance to the third round.
I was expecting that she was going to play very hard and strong. I expected it was going to be a difficult match, but it was more than I thought, Halep said in her courtside post-match interview.
