With coronavirus stimulus and support winding back from Monday, Australia’s economic recovery will be tested.

AlphaBeta director Andrew Charlton said the broad-based spending recovery showed the government’s textbook economic stimulus policies had worked well so far.
The governments stimulus to consumers has been effective in filling the gap in household spending during the height of the crisis,” he said. Achieving this outcome is like landing a plane on top of a lorry in a James Bond film. Its a Goldilocks result.
Without this stimulus, the economy would have fallen much further, Dr Charlton said.
