Australians all out in Paris after ‘heartbreaking’ Barty injury, De Minaur falls – Sydney Morning Herald
World No.1 Ashleigh Barty was forced to retire from her second-round match and was joined in the departure lounge by compatriots Astra Sharma and Alex De Minaur….
Between sets, Barty called for the physiotherapist and after some on-court treatment, walked off Court Philippe Chatrier gingerly.
After a six-minute medical timeout, Barty returned and produced her best service game. She also appeared better equipped to match Linettes groundstrokes.
But with the second set poised at 2-2, Barty walked to the umpires chair and retired. She could not go on.
Afterwards, the world No.1 said it would have been unsafe to continue.
It is the fourth time Barty has not progressed…
