A national survey of community sport estimates clubs around Australia have already lost more than $1.5 billion during the COVID-19 crisis, and that a quarter are at risk of going bust.
A national survey by the Australian Sports Foundation has found an estimated 16,000 sporting clubs (or one in four) are at risk of closing if they don’t get funding within six months, as fallout from the coronavirus pandemic continues.
