Australian share market closes lower as fears rise over spread of NSW coronavirus outbreak into Victoria

The Australian stock market has closed lower after the Victorian Government announced a border closure with NSW due to coronavirus.
Key points:
- Flight Centre was the the worst performer of 2020, falling 60 per cent to $15.9 over the year
- Buy now, pay-later fintech Afterpay surged 303 per cent to $118 this year
- The Australian dollar climbed to 77.04 US cents
The ASX200 ended the year down 1.4 per cent to 6,587 and the All Ords dropped 1.3 per cent 6,850 points.
Two more positive cases of coronavirus were recorded on Thursday afternoon, linked to the six other positive cases announced in the past 24 hours.
It’s believed the cases are linked to the outbreak in NSW.
