Former Australian Open champion Naomi Osaka has called out "beyond pathetic” racist posts against Asian people relating to COVID-19 on social media.
The reigning US Open champion took to Twitter ahead of the seasons first grand slam after noticing disgusting comments online.
Osaka, who has taken stands in recent years including supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, said it was concerning how little attention was being paid to the matter.
