Medvedev finished with more winners (30-20) while committing fewer unforced errors (33-39).
The 2019 US Open finalist also sent down six more aces (14-8) while winning 80 per cent of first-serve points compared to Rublevs 63 per cent
The fourth seed also converted five of 11 break-point opportunities while Rublev could manage one of five.
In all, Medvedev won 97 points to 78.
