Australia vs India live: David Warner’s batting key to Australia’s hopes of winning Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Gabba
Morning all!
It’s day four in Brisbane, and by the close of play today I reckon we’re going to have a pretty good idea where the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is going to end up. The equation is pretty simple for Australia – with rain on the horizon today and tomorrow, they need to smash their way to a solid lead as quickly as possible, and then still leave themselves enough time to take 10 Indian wickets to win the Test.
India, on the other hand, will be cruising. What’s the rush? Let’s just ease through the day, do a couple of rain dances and see what happens. A draw is enough for them to retain the trophy, and given the circumstances, that ought to be considered a victory in itself.
