Australia loses by 53 runs to New Zealand in the first T20 International in Christchurch
Australia has been swept aside in the first T20 International against New Zealand, losing by 53 runs in Christchurch in a poor start to the five-match series.
The tourists had the Black Caps struggling at 3-19 after four overs when Kane Williamson was out for just 12.
But a brilliant innings from Devon Conway rescued the innings, as the South African-born left-hander smashed 10 fours and three mighty sixes to finish on 99 not out off just 59 balls.
With help from Glenn Phillips (30) and Jimmy Neesham (26), the home side finished on 5-184 from their 20 overs.
