‘Australia looks like paradise’: Building boss says migrants will queue up – Sydney Morning Herald
The nation’s biggest builder believes migrants will queue up to move to Australia. But the nation is going to rapidly grey because of the pandemic recession.
Addressing a webinar hosted by the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation, Mr Steinert said while migrant numbers had fallen sharply they had been partly offset by a large number of Australians who have returned to the country to escape the coronavirus pandemic.
He said once a vaccine was in place and migrants started to move around the world again, Australia would stand out.
I think Australia looks like paradise, I think people will be going to be queueing up to come in, he said.
