Aussie quick Mitchell Starc pulls out of Sheffield Shield after death of father Paul – Fox Sports
Mitchell Starc and his family is mourning the passing of his father Paul, who lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday.
Cricket NSW announced the news at lunchtime on Thursday, confirming the fast bowlers absence for this weeks Sheffield Shield match against Victoria at Bankstown Oval.
n December, Starc withdrew from the second and third T20s against India on compassionate grounds and Cricket NSW will not set a date for his return.
Also missing the game will be Steve Smith, who has opted to rest due to an elbow complaint.
