ASX to rise, earnings set to accelerate – The Australian Financial Review
Australian shares are poised to open higher as reporting season, in particular in the US, moves forward. $A edges higher.
The US presidential election race continues in the background, with Joe Biden seeking to hold and potential extend his lead, while Donald Trump seeks to persuade undecided voters to give him four more years.
Amid the earnings flood and election noise, investors will be trying to assess the resurgence of the coronavirus in both Western Europe and the US. The US reset its daily new cases record on Friday with more than 83,000; albeit with some caveats according to The COVID Tracking Project.
