ASX to fall; Wall St mixed – The Australian Financial Review
ASX futures 0.41pc lower; Nasdaq posts another positive session; Dow Jones & S&P500 lower; gold at $US1807; AUD buys US69.7c.

Australian shares are poised to open lower as concerns about the global COVID-19 pandemic dented investor optimism.
ASX futures down 25 points or 0.4% to 5895 near 6.50am AEST. The local currency slipped.
The S&P 500 and Dow dropped as investors worried about another round of business shutdowns to contain a surge in coronavirus cases and began to shift their focus to earnings.
Nine of the S&P 500’s 11 industry sectors dropped, paced by a 4.9% tumble for energy. Twenty five of the Dow’s 30 components ended lower.
In contrast, the Nasdaq registered another record closing high, bolstered by Amazon, Apple and Microsoft.
I expect a lot of confusing numbers and guidance. COVID is certainly not behind us in any way shape or form, so maybe the V gets elongated some, said Peter Tuz, president of Chase Investment Counsel in Charlottesville, Virginia.
More than 12.1 million people around the world have been confirmed as having caught the virus, with more than 551,000 people dying as a result, according to the latest Johns Hopkins University data.
