ASX to edge higher, Wall St rallies, $A surges – The Australian Financial Review
Australian shares are poised for a modest opening gain. Shares advance in Europe and in New York. $A leaps higher.

In a morning note, NAB said: “The biggest risk for markets remains a contested election and whether the Democrats are able to gain a Senate majority.”
As Americans headed to the polls, it seemed likely – even among Republicans – that Democrats were going to prove the overall winners of the 2020 elections.
Joe Biden appears headed to the White House, with Democrats poised to expand their control of the House of Representatives and with the potential of taking control of the Senate.
