‘Asia’s El Chapo’ Tse Chi Lop arrested at Amsterdam airport, Australian police to request extradition

Australian Federal Police (AFP) are seeking to extradite an alleged Asian drug syndicate leader, compared to Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who has been arrested boarding a plane at Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport.

- AFP issued an arrest warrant for Mr Tse in 2019 over his connection to a drug syndicate
- He is wanted for his alleged connection to the trafficking of heroin and methamphetamine into Australia
- The AFP said they would be working with the Attorney-General’s department to request a formal extradition
Tse Chi Lop was arrested by Dutch police on Friday local time at the request of the AFP, after an arrest warrant and Interpol Red Diffusion request was issued for the Chinese-born Canadian national.
