As climate change accelerates Launceston’s flood risk, some propose putting floodgates on the estuary

Andrew Lovitt knows climate change is coming for his home.

For 35 years, he has lived in Launceston, in northern Tasmania — a flood-prone city at the centre of two rivers and an estuary.

“The clock is ticking,” Mr Lovitt, president of the Tamar Action Group, said.
