Apple’s follow-up to the M1 processor has started being mass produced at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co, according to reports from Nikkei Asia.
The chip is being referred to as the M2, for obvious reasons, with shipments to begin in July, for use in MacBook laptops that will be available in stores before the end of the year.
It’s curious timing, given Apple’s recent series of iPad Pros and new iMac both feature the M1.
It’s yet another move towards cutting Intel chips out of its entire line…
