Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 12 series in a few months from now. According to analysts, it will ship without a bundled charger and EarPods. Now, a new report says the price of the entry-level model will be $50 more than the previous generation.
The new report comes from an analyst named Jeff Pu (via MacRumors). He forecasts the price of the base-model iPhone 12 to be $749. This variant is expected to come with 5.4-inch OLED display, 5nm A14 chipset, 5G connectivity, and dual-camera setup.
For comparison, last years iPhone 11 debuted at $699, $50 lesser than the iPhone XR before it. On the other hand, Jon Prosser, a tipster claims the price of base iPhone 12 to be $649.
Since the iPhone 12 is reported to come with 5G, Mr Pu says customers will not mind the hike in the price and the demand wont be affected either. However, the lack of an in-box charger and EarPods may create controversy.
Anyway, the upcoming iPhone 12 series will still start lesser than its primary Android competitor Galaxy S20, which retails for $999 in the US. Nevertheless, Apple is only expected to ship 15-20 million units in 2020.
