Appeal launched after new witnesses to 2009 slaying identified
Police and family members have launched an appeal for more information after new witnesses were identified in the efforts to solve the suspected road rage murder of Omega Ruston more than a decade ago.
The father-of-two and construction worker, then aged 32, had been driving with two friends on the Gold Coast Highway near Burleigh Heads on the night of January 26, 2009, when he pulled over after a traffic incident with another vehicle.

Mr Ruston and one of his passengers got out of the white 2001 Holden Rodeo near the intersection with 5th Avenue as the second vehicle, described as a small maroon four-door sedan, stopped behind.
