ANZ will ditch customers without a climate plan – The Australian Financial Review
The bank’s boss, Shayne Elliott, says any carbon-heavy business customer that consistently refuses to plan for climate risk will be dropped.

While climate risk is a relatively new form of risk, he said it was still a matter of “good old-fashioned risk management”.
“If youre in one of those industries and youre not even thinking about it, or youre dismissive we would have massive concerns about the viability of that business. Therefore I think good old-fashioned prudent banking says we should find a way to move away from that customer, and thats what we are willing to do.
