ANZ has restarted dividends to shareholders again after announcing a $351 million third-quarter profit in New Zealand.
Shayne Elliott, chief executive of the bank, with operations in Australia and New Zealand, said: We think its right that we do pay a dividend and the reason is because we have the capacity to do so.
The move to pay a dividend of 25 cents per share showed the bank continued to be profitable, Elliott said.
