Antarctica’s ‘Doomsday Glacier’ Is in Serious Danger, New Research Confirms – ClickLancashire
Researchers consider it the Doomsday glacier.
Part of this is the alarming melting of the glacier the size of British Twaits in West Antarctica: it is receding half a mile (2,625 feet) per year. Scientists estimate that glaciers will lose all ice in about 200 to 600 years. At their base are irreversible drifting ice racks that function as a strengthen to the fast-flowing ice behindit The area holds enough ice to raise worldwide sea levels by 1.2 meters (4 feet) according to NASA.
