Annastacia Palaszczuk has another four more years in power — so what will this term mean for Queensland?

“Four more years, four more years.” It’s a chant we’re more accustomed to hearing yelled at fevered campaign events during US presidential campaigns.
But for the first time, the words — minus the hysterics — apply to Queensland, where Annastacia Palaszczuk has eased into the longest term of government a premier has enjoyed in the state’s 160-year history.
The transition here has none of the tumult and drama that’s emanated from the election in the United States, which was held just a few days after our own. In contrast, it could be one of the most uneventful in memory.
