Anemic star cluster breaks low-metal record – ScienceDaily
In a surprising discovery, astronomers using two Maunakea observatories the WM Keck Observatory and the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) found a globular cluster in the Andromeda Galaxy that contains record-breaking low levels of metals . The stars in the cluster, called RBC EXT8, have on average 800 times less iron than our sun and are three times less iron than the previous record holder of the globular cluster.
