Andra Day has opened up about her massive weight loss for her role in The United States vs Billie Holiday.
The film, set in the 1940s, follows Billie Holiday when the Federal Bureau of Narcotics launches an undercover sting against the jazz singer to stop her from singing her anti-lynching song ‘Strange Fruit.’
Day lost over 18kg (40 lbs) for her Oscar-nominated portrayal, although the 36-year-old says the change to her body hasn’t made her feel more attractive.
