A recent study conducted by a team of scientists from the United Kingdom discloses that loss of taste and smell sensation after infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causative pathogen of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), negatively impacts the quality of life and psychological wellbeing of those that recover but experience persistence of this symptom.
