‘Almost the impossible task’
North Mebourne has ended its winless start to the season, coming back from a 32-point hole to defeat Hawthorn in a thrilling contest of the AFL’s two bottom-placed teams.
Coming into the game with an unenviable 0-8 record, the Kangaroos looked headed for yet another loss before a thrilling second-half comeback gave North a 13. 9. (87) to 12. 8. (80) win in Launceston.
The win gave newly-installed Kangaroos coach David Noble the first victory of his coaching career on his 54th birthday.
