Alliance buys 14 new planes for $112m – The Australian Financial Review
The deal by the regional airline that caters to mining sector fly-in, fly-out workers defies the travel industry downturn sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alliance’s traditional business caters to fly-in-fly-out workers in the resources sector.
It also runs charter flights on behalf of the tourism and government sectors, and won subsidies from the Queensland government in June to run four return flights a week between Brisbane and the Whitsundays.
The airline had recently flagged intentions to expand during a $121 million capital raising, noting its current operation remained profitable as well, around the same time.
