The Ottawa Hospital’s Biotherapeutics Manufacturing Centre is producing three experimental COVID-19 vaccines for human trials.
The first of the three, a DNA-based vaccine called Covigenix VAX-001, is already headed to Halifax for a Phase 1 clinical trial, likely to begin within a week.
“They’ve just finished. It’s all ready to go. They are literally printing the labels,” said John Lewis, CEO of Entos Pharmaceuticals in Alberta, which developed the vaccine.
