All COVID-19 patients to be sent to RBWH under proposal for single hospital hub

“We’re not suggesting it [RBWH] will be one single [COVID-19] hospital across the whole state, because we would still be using others outside the Brisbane area as well.
“We are just looking at what this would require, what services would need to be around those wards, and how many beds would need to be set aside.”
Deputy Chief Health Officer Sonya Bennett said while the investigation into the outbreak linked to the PA Hospital ward was continuing, it was not believed PPE breaches were the cause.
“There certainly was, in the most recent case, very unusual circumstances and not related to a breach of PPE, per se, so that’s what the investigation will look at, what are the other factors,” she said.
