Russian police have detained people as they gathered near a court in Moscow that is hearing a case against Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny.
Key points:
- Mr Navalny could be sentenced to more than three years’ jail for breaching his probation conditions

- Mr Navalny’s arrest has sparked weeks of protests across Russia
Police were deployed near the court in large numbers and cordoned off nearby streets and detained 112 people, the OVD-Info protest monitoring group said.
Mr Navalny is facing a court hearing that could jail him for up to three-and-a-half years in a case that has sparked nationwide protests and talk of new Western sanctions.
