AI enhances brain MRI scans to better classify Alzheimer’s disease – Health Imaging

Artificial intelligence can be used to enhance brain MRI scans and potentially detect warning signs for Alzheimers disease before symptoms first arise.
The findings come by way of Boston University School of Medicine researchers who created an advanced AI framework known as a generative adversarial network. Learning from MRI scans taken on both 1.5 Tesla and 3T machines, the model generated images that better predicted Alzheimers compared to using 1.5T machines alone.
