AI can detect asymptomatic COVID-19 infections in coughs

- Artificial intelligence is used to differentiate between asymptomatic COVID-19 cases and healthy people based on their cough.
- Of the 200,000 samples provided, the model identified 98.5% of coughs from people confirmed to have COVID-19 including 100% of asymptomatics.
- The researchers are working on an app that contains the model. This could be a pre-screening tool to identify people who are likely to be asymptomatic.
