The footy world has rallied around the Indigenous community, with players and clubs supporting calls to change the date.
AFL premiership winner Jude Bolton has revealed he turned down an invitation to become an Australia Day ambassador in support of calls to change the date.
But the Sydney Swans great says he wants to be involved in discussions surrounding a new date to ensure we celebrate our wonderful country all together.
Past and present footballers from around the AFL and AFLW spoke out on Tuesday, with Essendon and North Melbourne also sharing their hope for a new date.
