Virus threatens to throw fixture into chaos
The AFL is on “red alert” after Sydney’s first COVID-19 case in six weeks, with the GWS Giants vs Essendon clash in danger of being moved, according to Eddie McGuire.
The NSW government announced that one individual had tested positive to the virus on Wednesday, with Premier Gladys Berejiklian expecting more cases in the coming days due to the man’s activity while being contagious.
According to McGuire, the infectious man’s activity could throw the AFL’s entire fixture for Round Eight into chaos.
