AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan says he is happy if players subbed out of games as the medical substitute can play the following week and says he understands clubs will “look to work around” the rule.
- Medical subs allow teams to replace players assessed during games as unfit to play for 12 days
- AFL rules require any player who is concussed to miss 12 days and at least one game
