’Accept this and move on’: AWOL Manly great Matai breaks silence – Fox Sports
He’s the grand final hero who couldn’t be found.
Now ex-Manly centre Steve Matai has issued a statement to address his whereabouts after his old teammates expressed concern for his well being in a report earlier this week.
Matai, now 36, won two premierships during his time with the Sea Eagles.
But try as they might, his friends have been unable to track him down, with many suggesting he had shut himself away from the code that gave him premiership glory and a multitude of caps for the Kiwis.
