AC Milan forward Rafael Leao scores fastest goal in Serie A history

AC Milan forward Rafael Leao is now in the record books after scoring the fastest ever goal in the Italian Serie A competition.
Leao needed just six seconds in his side’s away match against Sassuolo to score the game’s opening goal.
Statistics supplier Opta said the Portuguese youngster’s goal beat the previous record of eight seconds set by Piacenza’s Paolo Poggi against Fiorentina in 2001.
Milan later tweeted that Leao’s goal came after precisely 6.2 seconds.

Hakan Calhanolu surged forward from kickoff and threaded the ball through to Leao, who fired it into the back of the net.
The 21-year-old said the goal was something the team had been preparing for.
