‘Absolutely horrific’: Sickening 17-second leg snap rocks UFC – Fox Sports
History has repeated itself after another UFC matchup had to be immediately stopped.
Almost a decade ago Anderson Silva snapped his leg fighting against Chris Weidman. On Sunday (AEDT), it was Weidman who snapped his leg against one of his oldest sparring rival Uriah Hall. It was the first time in UFC history a fighter has won without a single strike thrown.
There was nothing extraordinary about the kick, but the fight had to be stopped just 17 seconds into the first round. It was just the third time in the sports history that a competitors leg had snapped in half.
