ABF’s Maritime Border Command (MBC) and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority – AMSA join forces to rescue stranded Indonesian fishers.
A routine surveillance mission by the MBC’s patrol aircraft discovered the stationary fishing vessel with its crew waving frantically for attention. Working together, AMSA, a merchant vessel, the ABF Cutter Cape Wessel and an AMSA Search and Rescue (SAR) aircraft responded to the area to provide assistance to the stranded crew.
