A Queensland business has developed a new safety device, inspired by the death of Toyah Cordingley.

Trakalarm has been more than two years in the making and can be accessed remotely for parents wanting to monitor their kids or for people with dementia.

A crowdfunding campaign will be launched next week to get the project off the ground.
