A new year brings a new vaccine, but don’t expect a return to normal

I encourage everyone to consider how far we’ve come this year. Consider early 2020, where case numbers were increasing by 60 to 80 people each day and I had no choice but to ask all 5 million of you to stay home.
Almost 50 per cent of the Queensland population was working from home. Clubs, pubs and bars had all been shut down, and restaurants could only offer take away or delivery services.
We saw widespread panic shopping. Toilet paper became the nation’s most precious commodity.
