A few days ago I posted an 1890’s photo of the First St John’s Anglican Church which was located on Queen Street opposite the Treasury Building, that seemed to show a man repairing the roof tiles. I have since come across another photo of the same building, apparently taken on the same day after the repairs had been carried out.
I am assuming these photos were taken as a record of maintenance work that was carried out on the building, which was finally demolished in 1902.
