A bush fire on Fraser Island and a 10 to 15 knot northerly meant a smoky morning at the river mouth. Wind driven slop and chop on the bar and in the bay. Didn’t look too exciting for the smaller boats. BOM forecast is for northerly winds 15 to 20 knots, increasing to 20 to 25 knots during the late afternoon and evening.
