Holmes had a shaky start to his first game at fullback since Round 8. The 25-year-old fumbled his first touch, nearly gifting Dragons winger Jordan Pereira the opening try.
On the back of Holmes error, the Cowboys found themselves under pressure but breathed a sigh of relief when Mikaele Ravalawa butchered a sure try after dropping a perfect pass from Matt Dufty.
