Leading jockey could avoid surgery on injured vertebrae

Jockey Dwayne Dunn could avoid surgery to repair a fractured C6 vertebrae, with further scans required on Sunday for doctors to make a decision on his recovery.
The Victorian Jockeys’ Association reported on Sunday morning that Dunn hadn’t had a scheduled surgery on Saturday night to stabilse the injury with doctors at the Royal Melbourne Hospital determining more information was needed to confirm whether the operation was required.
