BBL run machine Marcus Stoinis has been given the task of becoming Australia’s iceman who can finish off games.

The Adelaide Strikers’ Jonathan Wells has been one of the best in the Big Bash in performing the specialised role but was overlooked for the 21-man touring party. Selectors have instead opted for Stoinis and wicketkeeper Alex Carey, who bat higher up for their BBL franchise.
