Emotional Waller describes fellow trainer as ‘fantastic horseman’
After taking centre stage at Randwick following yet another feature-race trifecta, Chris Waller paid an emotional tribute to fellow trainer Rick Worthington, who lost his fight with cancer on Saturday morning.
Moments after Mister Sea Wolf had won the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes at Randwick to give the champion trainer the first three horses across the line, a clearly upset Waller said Worthington’s death had shocked all trainers.
